  • Just had the best fishing trip ever with Captain Dan. We had some contact before and had told him that we wanted to do some shark fishing and some reef fishing at the same trip. Captain Dan delivered exactly what we had wished for (and more!). Not only did all of us get to catch our ”own” shark, once we we got to the reef we also caught snapper, a grouper and yellow tail. All within a 6 hour trip. Dan was a pleasure to fish with, and we all learnt a lot from him. Always calm and collected. I can’t wait to come back to the Keys again and will definitely book my next trip with Captain Dan. The boat was excellent to fish from.

  • We all got a shot or two at a tarpon, and landed 3 for 7 of the fish.  We could have caught the sharks if we had targeted them, and we got some nice mangrove snapper for dinner.  Dinner and a show!

    We departed cow key marina with the pleasure of fishing with Capt. Dan of Key West Fishing Connection, and I can not give him enough stars.  5 star doesn’t quite cut it in describing non-stop action trips with tarpon, sharks, and snapper.  Undoubtedly we got dinner and a show - on just a short trip. We fished at night near the bridges in the channel and caught tarpon and mangrove snapper.

    Capt. Dan was not only an expert guide who knows all the best spots to find fish but also a fantastic teacher. With some newer to tarpon anglers, our group and I wanted to learn as much as possible about the fish species we were targeting as possible. Capt. Dan was incredibly patient and informative. He coached us on proper casting techniques, bait selection and rigging, and even shared fascinating facts about the fish we were catching.

    Throughout the night, Capt. Dan’s enthusiasm for fishing was contagious, and his expertise made us feel at ease even when we were reeling in our first fish. He made sure to explain everything we needed to know and provided us with tips and tricks that we’ll carry with us on future fishing trips.

    One of the most amazing parts of the trip was seeing all the sharks, tarpon, and other baitfish feeding and swimming around us. There was an entire school of pilchards, and very large mangrove snapper.  Capt. Dan’s knowledge of the local ecosystem and marine life really added to the experience.  We caught and released several tarpon (3/7) and saw some of the real big silver kings rolling and feeding.

    I would highly recommend Capt. Dan and Key West Connections to anyone looking for a fun and exciting fishing trip, whether they are a seasoned angler or new to the sport. Capt. Dan’s patience and coaching ability make him an ideal guide for those looking to learn and improve their fishing skills. I can’t wait to book another trip with Capt. Dan and Key West Connections.

  • This was an amazing trip where we got some dinner to take home, but also caught a 9 foot lemon shark and a 7 foot sand shark. What an amazing experience. Dan was overly attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. I highly recommend him.

  • Best fishing trip of my life! My 12 year old son caught a shark, bigger than he was. Capt. Dan patiently told him everything he needed to do to catch it and he did. A catch and release. We tagged it I hooked a big one that dragged the boat around for about an hour. I finally got him to the boat and we tagged that one too. A huge bull shark. What a day. we can’t wait to go back

  • Dan and his crew lead a great charter. We booked a mangrove fishing day with them and landed a boat full of mangrove snapper, snook and a couple redfish. After such a great time on the mangroves we booked a sunset shark fishing charter. It was the experience of a lifetime! We landed a huge shark and had multiple fights on the line.   • Awesome day out there! We caught everything we were looking for and more! Started the day with catching bait, as per usual, then got into the yellowtail snapper (which were amazing table fare!!!), mutton snapper, Black grouper, barracudas, and even mounted a shark! The crew was highly knowledge and entertaining, unlike other charters ive done in the past, well worth the trip+tip! Officially rebooked for my trip next year
